I know it has been awhile - but I'm back. 

This week we I had a great week of work with an awesome team! We shot nearly 2,400 points with the total station in 2 days to map the architecture and terrain in Area 1!

I went up to site yesterday to make some excavation plans, Beya kept herself entertained by engaging with local wildlife.

What'd you do on St Patrick's Day? I celebrated accordingly and hopped onto a bus hungover.

St. Patricks Day sunset - Huanchaco

I know I am a week late on this post, but I have been pretty busy this week.

Last Saturday I celebrated St Patrick's Day with my friend Colin beginning with a liter of beer and late lunch at Trujillo's microbrewery, Hops. We then moved on to Huanchaco, drank beer on the beach, watched Beya play with other dogs and caught an awesome sunset! We kept the party rolling by having the best pizza in Huanchaco at Sabes - and then headed to Trujillo in anticipation of seeing the most infamous cover bad in Peru - Big Balls -. Please youtube Big Balls, Bohemio's Cafe, Trujillo. We caught up with the Peace Corp folks there, and let me tell you there was lots of gringo dancing - an awesome time. The next day I woke up or should say, I napped, got up with a well-deserved headache and returned to Simbal to pack to go to Ecuador for the next few days to renew my visa. Let me tell you the day was painful but I never slept so well on a nightbus - 11 hrs later I arrived in Tumbes, and then proceeded to get a ticket to cross the border and onto Cuenca (another about 6-7 hour bus ride in total).

I loved Cuenca. Located in the mountains the city has a ton of history, I saw a cool Inca administrative center, beautiful Colonial churches, ate amazing food, and got to go to a Manu Chao/Calle 13 concert! Awesome - I was super impressed with Cuenca, its organization, cleanliness, friendly people, food, and historic center. It was also very cheap too, which was nice!
